A Story About Waiting

Six years ago, I resigned with no plan B. No new role lined up. No clients, no office, and no certainty at all.
How often do we find ourselves waiting? Waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect opportunity, the perfect conditions to take the next stepโwhether in life, in our careers, or even in how we communicate.
After resigning from my role as Head of Global Marketing & Communications at SONGWON Industrial Group, I took a break to complete my exams and work on my thesis for my Executive Master in Corporate Communication at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, in the Netherlands.
Once I graduated in 2021, the post-Covid job market was still far from ideal, and interesting opportunities were really scarce. But instead of holding out for the "perfect job" or the "perfect moment", I chose to take a big leap of faith. I started my own company, G Communication Consulting, driven solely by my passion for leading marketing and communication projects.
It wasnโt easy, and it definitely wasnโt perfect. Starting completely from scratch, in a highly technical B2B world, and during deeply uncertain times, was a challenge in itself... But it was also an opportunity to prove to myself what determination and passion can achieve. That leap has led to four incredible years of growth, learning, and doing what I love.
This experience taught me something valuable: This mindset doesnโt just apply to personal growthโitโs equally important in how businesses approach communication.
๐๐ง ๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฌ like those we are living, ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ค ๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐งโto wait for complete stability or absolute clarity. Best practices show that consistent, transparent, and empathetic communication during difficult moments builds trust, strengthens relationships, and positions brands as reliable and resilient.
So, whether itโs launching a project, sharing a message, or taking a leap of faith, itโs important to remember that the perfect moment may never come. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is start where we are, with what we have, and trust the process.
