A Story About Waiting

How often do we find ourselves waiting? Waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect opportunity, the perfect conditions to take the next stepโ€”whether in life, in our careers, or even in how we communicate.

After resigning from my role as Head of Global Marketing & Communications at SONGWON Industrial Group, I took a break to complete my exams and work on my thesis for my Executive Master in Corporate Communication at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, in the Netherlands.

Once I graduated in 2021, the post-Covid job market was still far from ideal, and interesting opportunities were really scarce. But instead of holding out for the "perfect job" or the "perfect moment", I chose to take a big leap of faith. I started my own company, G Communication Consulting, driven solely by my passion for leading marketing and communication projects.

It wasnโ€™t easy, and it definitely wasnโ€™t perfect. Starting completely from scratch, in a highly technical B2B world, and during deeply uncertain times, was a challenge in itself... But it was also an opportunity to prove to myself what determination and passion can achieve. That leap has led to four incredible years of growth, learning, and doing what I love.

This experience taught me something valuable: This mindset doesnโ€™t just apply to personal growthโ€”itโ€™s equally important in how businesses approach communication.

๐ˆ๐ง ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ like those we are living, ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ž๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค ๐จ๐ง ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐งโ€”to wait for complete stability or absolute clarity. Best practices show that consistent, transparent, and empathetic communication during difficult moments builds trust, strengthens relationships, and positions brands as reliable and resilient.

So, whether itโ€™s launching a project, sharing a message, or taking a leap of faith, itโ€™s important to remember that the perfect moment may never come. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is start where we are, with what we have, and trust the process.
