The Many Stories of My Name

Working with international teams has its perks, and one of my favorites is discovering how my name, Giulia, is interpreted around the world. From the English "Julia" to the French "Julie," the German "Yu-li-a," the Chinese transliteration 朱莉娅, the Japanese ジュリア, and the Arabic جوليا, every version tells a little story of cultural connection.
Personally, I love hearing and even seeing these variations. They remind me of the beauty of diversity and the bonds we create across language barriers. Of course, as long as there’s respect, every “mispronunciation” or "creative spelling" brings a sweet smile to my face.
For those who prefer their name to always be pronounced correctly, LinkedIn has an easy feature. Did you know you can record your name’s pronunciation directly on your profile? It’s a simple and effective way to help your international connections if you feel the need. Heads up: this feature is only available via the mobile app. Here are the instructions: https://lnkd.in/ecXBnuPT
Has your name ever taken on a new life in another language? 😉
